Large Manufacturing Company
Manufacturing companies have many safety training
requirements that must be done annually. In an effort to
bring a “fresh” look to safety training for their
employees, this company hired SES’ professional safety
and health trainers to do their annual safety training.
SES came on-site prior to the training to familiarize
themselves with the specifics of the facility, gathered
company and safety background information, interviewed
employees and took pictures to be utilized in the
training session. Training topics included: hazardous
communication, the affects of drugs and alcohol,
confined space, fall prevention, walking and working
surfaces, and machine guarding.
The training sessions were held off-site during their
plant shut-down giving the employees a special treat.
SES developed a site-specific training presentation in
PowerPoint with reinforcement activities and utilized
two trainers for presenting. SES was able to speak about
the specifics of the company and address employee
questions and concerns due to the extensive research
into the company prior to the training.
It was a highly successful event and the company is
looking to utilize SES for future safety and health
training, not just for hourly employees, but to train
management personnel in safety leadership principles.
Large Snack Food Manufacturer
SES provided required OSHA compliance safety training
to a large snack food manufacturer in Northeast Indiana.
Through SES’ Compliance Partnership Program (CPP), all
160 employees were provided with the necessary tools for
safety in the workplace.
Training requirements were first determined by
conducting an on site needs assessment survey. A
training program was then developed based on identified
needs. SES coordinated and conducted all training
programs, acting as the corporate safety trainer. The
CPP approach to safety saved this client nearly
two-thirds of their safety budget over what would have
been invested in staffing their own Health and Safety
Manager.
National Diversified Product Distributor
A large provider of diversified products, ranging
from trailer axles to prefabricated lumber, contacted
SES to conduct monthly safety training meetings at their
facilities located in Texas, Florida, Kentucky, Indiana
and North Carolina. The written training programs were
site specific, as were the actual training sessions. The
client was under a tight time schedule due to federal
and state compliance pressure. Recognizing the sense of
urgency, SES completed the training and documentation at
all five sites on an expedited schedule and under
budget, resulting in savings of several thousand dollars
in avoiding regulatory fines.
